Since December 4, 2006, the ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et des Parcs offers an on-line service to obtain qualification certificates for the sale and use of pesticides.

Pursuant to the Pesticides Act, all pesticide sellers and users who work in activity sectors stated in the Regulation respecting permits and certificates for the sale and use of pesticides must have this certificate.

The certificate is delivered only when the applicant has successfully passed the examination prescribed or recognized by the Minister. Training is not mandatory, but it helps to acquire the knowledge necessary to successfully pass the certification examination.

To use this service, you must:

• Consult the information bulletins about the use of our on-line services and their security procedures;
• Make sure you have read the latest updates concerning the mandatory prerequisites (courses) to obtain a pesticide certificate;

• have a clicSÉQUR–Citizens account in order to securely access the Department’s online services. The procedure for obtaining this account is completed when you access the on-line service.

Consult the operating conditions that are specific to your situation:

• First request;
• Renewal, modification or request for duplicates;
• Costs and payment terms incurred, if required.

For a first request, you must:

• Identify yourself using your clicSÉQUR-Citizens identifier.
• Transmit a hard copy or a scanned copy of the certificate stating you have passed the exam, or any other document showing equivalencies; you may transmit these documents electronically, by mail or by fax.

If you are an agricultural producer, you must transmit a scanned copy (electronic) or a hard copy of your agricultural producer card; You may send this document electronically, by mail or by fax.

If you are a forest manager, you must transmit a scanned copy (electronic) or a hard copy of your agricultural producer card or your forest intervention permit; you may send this document electronically, by mail or by fax.

For a renewal, to modify your file or to obtain one or more duplicates of your certificate, you must:

• Give the number of your pesticide certificate and its expiry date;
• Identify yourself using your clicSÉQUR-Citizens identifier.

Costs and terms of payment

A request for a new certificate or a renewal costs $170.00. Each duplicate costs $5.00. If the request requires payment, you must pay on-line, by Visa or Master Card credit card.
